Artist's Description
The Golden Pavilion (金閣寺), Kinkakuji, sometimes mistakenly called the Golden Pagoda, in Kyoto, Japan is covered in multiple layers of actual gold leaf (not paint). Rokuon-ji (鹿苑寺 Deer Garden Temple) is the formal name of the Zen Buddhist temple complex where the Golden Pavilion is located.
